Obesity and excess adiposity may occur following treatment for childhood acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) even in those not administered cranial irradiation. Prior glucocorticoid treatment may be contributory as glucocorticoids have direct effects on fat mass (FM) and adipocytes.
